From The Dawntreader 053

The night icy dark
full of bubbling fears
and I thought to myself
time for a love song,
forgetting for the moment
that I can't sing,
never could hold a tune.

The words flowed
clear through my head,
music on the side, white
notes on a black page ....
'I love you like raindrops,'
I sang, 'like snowflakes
in winter, a star-beaded sky ....'

And it made me happy
to sing inside myself,
to feel your stuttering
heart's warm rhythm,
your lazy sex shivering
in my hand, my silent
song soaring into the night.
