You've no intention
of slimming -
certainly not in dreamtime
when you can be as lavish
with calories as you like,
spreading butter,
yellow and thick across
crisp breakfast toast
and half-forgotten dreams
pile up
in your sleep-addled head.

Hard to shake off
the grip of dreams
after night-time hours
under the duvet
gorging on sleep
where real-time
and fantasy mix,
where memories wear
impossibly bright colours,
taste of sugar and spice
and you feast
on indigestible meals
sloshing cream
over chocolate puddings
and you don'y get sick

and sadness has no place.
